WordPress Website Design
Your website is your most important marketing tool.
Whether you are selling things online or trying to turn visitors into clients, people will go to your website first.
It may be time to do a website refresh if:
- Your website looks great but it isn't converting visitors into customers or clients.
- You are going through re-branding or changing your offerings.
- Functionality of the website is broken or not easy to work with.
- You want to sell products online, such as books, consultation packages, apparel, etc.
- You want to generate re-occuring revenue via memberships, subscriptions or eLearning courses.
- It's been over 4 years since your website had some love and you are looking to modernize the look and functionality to bring it up to date.
- You tried designing a WordPress website yourself or doing it on the cheap and it's not where you want it to be.
A website is an important investment so let's do it right.
My Process
1. Let's Have a Conversation
A successful project starts with good communication. I will arrange to have a 30 minute phone call with you to learn about your business and what you are looking for. Your answers will help me figure out what functionality is needed, and how to maximize your website goals.
2. Proposal
Based on your answers during our phone call I will put together a detailed proposal that will outline the steps that will be taken, a breakdown of costs, timeline, recommended additional services I think you would benefit from, and what is expected from both of us during the web design process.
Additional questions or adjustments to the proposal may be required.
3. Research
Once the proposal has been accepted, agreements signed and the 25% deposit received we will have several email or phone discussions about your website. At this time the structure, pages, and ideas for possible layouts will be shared. There will be many questions asked to get a good idea of the project direction. Sketches and the sharing of websites you like will help out a lot at this stage.
4. Design & Development
After our conversation(s) I will begin to design / develop your website in my live development space so we can have a live representation of what your website will look like. I will do up the basic page structure, and page layouts where placeholder text and imagery will be used. Development will begin and be ongoing during the design process. A review will take place, changes made where necessary and I will start placing in the provided text and images where appropriate in the approved design layouts. Colors, imagery, style and occasional changes will occur. We will then have another review to make sure we are still on the right track. Any requested changes will be made where needed before moving on to the final stage.
Development may take longer based on the scope of the project.
5. Delivery & Optional Add-Ons
Before launching your website I will make sure it is optimized, thoroughly tested, and secure. I will then discuss some optional add-ons like my ongoing website maintenance package and further WordPress training sessions.
